Believer make a huge jump with their second album. From the opening guitar riff, you're hooked. Intricate time signatures, incredibly tight drumming and thought provoking lyrics all add up to one of the best albums of 1990, if not the decade. Every song just kicks ass, even the U2 cover?! which closes out the album. Here they also showcase their talent at incorporating operatic and classical influences in Dies Irae, a truly stunning cut. Light years than their previous effort in terms of both production and song cohesion, this is a must have recording. Sadly, this was their magnum opus, as Dimensions, while expanding on themes brought to light here, is not nearly as memorable as Sanity Obscure.
